Sealing is essential to maintaining healthy travertine countertops, vanities, floors and surfaces. travertine is a porous material. The right sealer will penetrate into the pores of the travertine to fill them and create a barrier to prevent oil, water and other liquids from getting inside, while still allowing the travertine to breathe and expel moisture vapors. It's the most effective way to protect any travertine surface from harmful oils and undesirable staining without affecting the natural beauty of the travertine.
For best protection, it is recommended that your travertine surfaces be sealed every 1-2 years.
