FAQ

Is it really necessary to seal natural stone countertops, floors, vanities, and walls?

Natural stone is a porous material which makes it vulnerable to collecting oils, moisture, and other harmful residues. Stone Savior Sealer penetrates to the inside of the stone to fill the pores and provide a protective barrier, which prevents oil and moisture penetration. Sealing your stone will ease cleaning, prevent staining, and increase the lifespan of the material.

Should I seal my grout?

Yes. When using a sanded grout you should seal it to protect it from dirt, grime, and other liquids. Using Stone Savior Sealer to seal a sanded grout will prevent the dirt and liquids from penetrating. It also will help prevent mildew that can grow on the grout especially in the showers.

Why can't I use just any cleaner for my natural stone countertop?

You want to ensure that you are using a Ph neutral cleaner on any natural stone countertop or vanity. Stone Savior Ready to use Countertop Cleaner is just what you want to clean with. It is a natural stone cleaner that does not contain any acids or alkali's that are harmful to natural stone. Using harsh chemicals that are abrasive on your natural stone tops will break down the sealer a lot quicker as well as dull the finish.

Is there anything I need to use to keep the shine on my polished countertop?

Regular use of Stone Savior Polish will help keep your polished surface looking fresh and new. While the sealer penetrates to the inside of the stone, polish will help protect and enhance the top layer of the stone.

How do I clean ceramic or porcelain tile?

Stone Savior Concentrate Cleaner is perfect to use on any ceramic or porcelain tile. It is also safe and easy to use on any natural stone floor. Stone Savior Concentrate Cleaner is a non-acidic, non-hazardous, and Ph neutral cleaner. No need to purchase a different cleaner for each surface in your home or business.

What is the best type of cloth to seal my natural stone with?

When sealing with Stone Savior Sealer the best thing to use is a clean, white, lint-free cloth. You want to make sure it's white, especially when sealing grout. If you choose to use a colored cloth, the dye from the cloth may transfer off and get on the grout. When sealing a floor you should use a new Rayon mop or a new clean sponge mop which does not contain any oils.

How do I know if I have a stain or an etch mark?

When oil or water penetrates into the natural stone that is not sealed it will leave a dark mark on top of the surface. An etch mark will make the top surface of the natural stone lighter in color.
